Reviews and Ratings
The hotel had a terrible mildew smell that lingered in the not so good rooms for the price. There was no bathroom mat, leading to a freezing cold experience in the hotel room, although the service was rated 10 best every. The demeanor of the staff was unpleasant in their communication, both at check-in and check-out.
I found the hotel to be conveniently located with several shops and restaurants close by. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but I was not impressed with the service I received during my stay. The dining experience left much to be desired, though the location was the main reason I chose this hotel. Facilities were average, and the price did not necessarily reflect the overall experience.
When we arrived, the rooms were not ready, and one had a stopped-up sink, which was a bit of a hiccup. However, once we got settled in, the rooms themselves were nice and comfortable. The maintenance issue was a bit of a downside, as it seemed like it hadn't been properly addressed. The service we received was a bit of a mixed bag - while most of the staff were professional and helpful, one staff member, David, was ignorant and rude to my family, which left a sour taste. On the other hand, the majority of the service was very nice, although there was a slip-up when they forgot about our soup order, making us feel a bit neglected. The location, with its beautiful and elegant surroundings, was the main reason I chose this hotel; however, due to the service hiccups, I might not plan on staying here again. The exposed wooden beams, large fireplace, and sitting area added to the charm, but the lack of attention to certain details by staff or housekeeping was disappointing. The dining experience was not exceptional, more like a basic continental breakfast you'd find at other hotels for free; I did enjoy the chocolate muffins, though. The facilities were average, but the ample parking and proximity to family were convenient perks. Overall, the hotel has its pros and cons, making it a somewhat average stay.
The hotel offers larger rooms than most, and it's convenient to have a restaurant and lounge available. However, issues with cigarette smoke and men's cologne odors persist, and there have been intrusive incidents with housekeeping. The pool and hot tub cleanliness need substantial improvement, though the front desk staff are helpful within their limitations set by management.
My stay at this hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms were a bit of a mixed bag - while they had nice amenities like a refrigerator, microwave, and good water pressure in the shower, the cleanliness left something to be desired with a stained shower curtain and dirty carpet. Unfortunately, I even experienced bed bugs during my stay, which was a major downside. On top of that, there was a lingering unpleasant smell in the room that I had to cover up with Lysol. However, the service was a highlight as the staff was very friendly and helpful, although there were some instances of rudeness. The location was convenient for my needs, being close to DC and MGM, but there were some encounters with pushy behavior. The dining experience was a bit of a letdown due to the attitude of the breakfast staff and the distance for those with mobility issues. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel offered some basic facilities, even though there were lapses in service like not being helpful and not accepting credit cards.
